For years, I've suffered from tartar buildup and consequently, gum recession. Over the years, I've visited many doctors, explaining that gum disease runs in my family and that I didn't want to lose my teeth prematurely. However, they only performed tartar removal and sent me away. They didn't refer me to a periodontist. I had developed a fear of dentists. After researching, I came to Dr. Ela. Dr. Ela told me that I had significant gum recession but that her priority was to keep my teeth in my mouth as much as possible. She performed tartar removal, curettage, and splint treatment.
