Dr. Bulam Hakan is a very professional surgeon. He truly listens, explains everything clearly, and takes his patients seriously. I had an excellent experience coming to Istanbul alone and felt safe and well cared for throughout the entire process. His nurse Neslihan is absolutely adorable and took amazing care of me from start to finish. His assistants, Efe and Sörhet, were available 24/7 for any questions or needs, which made a huge difference and gave me great peace of mind. My surgeries went very well clean, precise work and my recovery was fast. I am more than happy to have chosen Dr. Bulam Hakan and to have met such a serious and professional medical team. I 100% recommend him.

I am from the US and I had my Surgery with Dr. Hakan Bulam for Deep plane Facelift, Deep Plane Neck lift, Rhinoplasty and upper/lower blepharoplasty. My surgery experience witn Dr. Bulam was a seamless experience. His staff were welcoming, warm, friendly and very responsive. His office manager, Sezen, was my point of contact for 8 months before the surgery. She was very responsive to my messages and questions and I reached out to her quite often! Dr. Bulam’s office is in the best part of Istanbul and his office is beautiful, very clean and has state of the art equipment. I felt no pain during the surgery, stayed 2 nights at the hospital and I was surprised the the food at the hospital was actually delicious. I had my own room, TV and had access to Dr. Bulam and his surgical assistant, Yeşim, who checked on me often. Yeşim was highly skilled, friendly and compassionate. She came to the hospital very early every morning to check on me and change my bandages. She is one of the hardest working people I have met in the medical field. Of course 99% of the reason for this review is for my actual results. I am very pleased with my face and nose. Dr. Bulam is truly an artist and a perfectionist. Although I’m still swollen, I am already ecstatic how natural and lovely my nose looks. Having turned 52 this year, I hated my jowls and neck region. I am in love with my neck and jowls now. There is no scar under my chin and my scars are so subtle and fading very nicely. I am so lucky to have picked such a caring, compassionate, and honest surgeon with superior bedside manner. I give my experience a 10 out of 10 and highly recommend Dr. Bulam.

Before & After pictures btw. I’m nowhere near satisfied with my results. I wouldn’t recommend going to this doctor. I came from the USA to get a lower and upper blepharoplasty. The doctor waited until I flew all the way from America to tell me, once he saw me, that he wouldn’t be able to cut too much because of my age. I legit just wanted the darkness gone as much as possible and my eyes to be tighter, because I have extra fat underneath my eyes especially when I smile. I feel as though he should have said that he couldn’t do that when we were chatting on WhatsApp before I flew to Turkey. First, one of the anesthesiologists kept poking me about 2–3 times before surgery and could not do it right, which was super concerning. Someone else had to take over for her, and they had to give me the medicine in my hand instead of my arm, which was super painful and burned. I healed for a few days, and after they took off my bandages, things looked okay. I gave it time, and now it’s been five months since the surgery and I still look the same. It’s embarrassing, due to the fact that I publicly told everyone about the surgery and it didn’t turn out the way I wanted it to. I also sent them a message asking for a revision or a partial refund, and they have not responded. It took me double texting them through WhatsApp just to get any reply. It felt like I had to blow them up and tell them I would write a review just to get a response. The last thing they told me was that my surgery looks good, but it’s about how I feel and I feel like I’m not satisfied. Even the people close to me don’t notice a difference. It was honestly a waste of money. Now they’re responding only after I double texted and waited days, and they told me I would have to pay out of pocket again to get a revision. I honestly don’t trust them, and I wouldn’t go to them. They just want your money, and it’s not worth it.

I have recently had a second operation with Dr Hakan Bulam. I first travelled to Istanbul from Australia in January 2025 to have a BBL. Dr Bulam did a wonderful job, I have a natural looking body with very well healed scars. I returned in October 2025 after being so pleased with my first surgery to have otoplasty (ear pinning). Again, I have had a safe and pleasant experience with Dr Bulam and his team. I could not recommend Dr Bulam enough for plastic surgery. He is worth the travel to Istanbul. Thankyou.

I have chosen Dr Hakan for my breast augmentation and uplift and I don't regret my decision at all. From very beginning I was looked after by the doctor and his assistant. Also the staff in a hospital was very approachable and helpful. The result after my surgery was exactly what I was expecting. On my consultation the doctor was a good listener and usderstood what kind of effect I was looking for but also he will advise you and do what's the best for you as at patient.
